Twitter Space Recap with Moledao

On 27 February 2023, Mason (Mind Network Co-Founder) joined the Twitter Space event hosted by Abu (from Moledao). Over 1.2K viewers watched the event live.

Key highlights from the event:
- Team Introduction: A group of hardcore engineers led by an AI expert, a university professor, and a top hacker.
- Project Introduction: Mind Network is a secured data ledger to offer encrypted computation on encrypted private on-chain data.
- User Case: We piloted use cases for risk profiling, photo sharing, and more. We onboarded global banks, chainlink, public cloud providers, and leading Dapps as pilot partners.
- Sponsorship: Sponsored by Binance Incubation Camp, Chainlink BUILD program, and Arweave ecosystem fund.
- Our Vision: Mind Network will make your data truly yours — a mission from Web1.0 to Web3.0.
- Project Updates: The testnet will be launched soon with incentives for the early supporters of the community.

Did you miss the Twitter Space event with Mind Network? Don’t worry! Check the info below:

Abu:
Tell the audience a little bit about yourself, as well as Mind Network.
Mason:
My name is Mason. I have worked in the data space for more than 15 years. My previous job was with a global bank, and I was the youngest managing director to lead the bank’s global AI and blockchain initiatives. Mind Network is a full encryption network built on a patented Adaptive Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) framework to secure all your data, smart contracts and AI on Web3.

Abu:
How are you (together with Mind Network) trying to solve data breaches? How are AI and blockchain going to help with that?
Mason:
In Web2, users have to trust centralized platforms to protect their privacy, and it has been proven not reliable. Mind Network provides an entirely different solution.
1) We encrypt customers’ data from the first touch point, which means when you connect to Mind Network, regardless of your Dapps or the file you upload, your data will be encrypted.
2) We provide encrypted computation on encrypted data. Our team has done an excellent job to innovate and productionize cutting-edge ZK-proof, Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE), and MPC techniques to ensure authorized third parties could apply computation on users’ data without seeing the content.
3) With Mind Network, even with encrypted computation and encrypted query, we are able to respond in milliseconds, which means we can drive your Dapps in real-time. It’s more than 100 times faster than data ledger benchmarks. We can support large-scale machine learning or large-scale AI models in real-time.

Abu:
Can you explain a little bit more about what these different things (Data Cocoon, Mind Lake, Mind Studio) are and how they contribute to this stronger, web3 ecosystem that you guys are building?
Mason:
1) Data Cocoon can be thought of as a private datalake, owned by you and only by you. Data Cocoon supports both structured data and unstructured data. It’s like a private safe in a bank (even the bank and Mind Network have no access to the data).
2) Mind Lake is a unified data platform. It’s a one-stop platform to work with data cocoons within the data lake. Some data cocoons are fully private and fully encrypted, and some others could be shareable or public. This means all Mind Lake users are working on a unified and collaborative data platform.
3) Mind Studio is an easy-to-use client with a nice GUI. You can access it through your browser. It’s very different from cloud service. Mind Studio is 100% secured, and it has no control or access to the data you work with.

Abu:
Does Mind Network at any point store or keep the data even on an encrypted platform? Or does it just send it straight to wherever it’s going?
Mason:
Mind Network can store data in a range of decentralized storage and public clouds. Mind Network also offers data persistence to allow fast access. It is built on an encryption technique called fully homomorphic encryption (FHE). It’s a technique not just doing encryption on your data. It can also enable a third party to do computation on your encrypted data. Data is available but invisible.

Abu:
How would I get started with the Mind Network if I wanted to, say, send a file or send something to somebody else? For example, someone like myself (who may not have experience with mind studio or encryption).
Mason:
As an example use case for SocialFi, we recently delivered a solution to protect privacy in photo-sharing, which won second place in the Network State Hackathon organized by Masknetwork and Starkware. In Web2, users have to give up their independent data privacy rights. For example, Instagram can access over 40 billion photos users post without any authentication, including private images.
Things changed with Mind Network in Web3. You can upload your photo to Mind Network first if you want to post it on a social Dapp. You can share it with a policy — encrypt your face to strangers and only show your face to your friends. Mind Network can encrypt certain parts of the photo, and it can be generalized to any information with AI technologies.

Abu:
In a very slow bear market, what do you think of the current apps and current infrastructure that’s being built now?
Mason:
This is not about the price of tokens, bear or bull market. All industry revolutions have ups and downs. I know there are still many uncertainties for web3. But if you look at it from a historical lens, I’m so optimistic about it. Researchers and pioneers built web1.0 to share information through hyperlinks on the Internet and proposed linked data/semantic web to interconnect data for web2.0, which was not very successful due to the data silos from platforms. But people still carry this vision and keep fighting for it with blockchain innovations. More importantly, people have started to realize data rights are human rights. We need to make changes. That’s why even though it’s in a deep bear market, I’m still super optimistic about the data revolution in Web3.

Abu:
What you guys are planning for the near future and upcoming build? What is the next big milestone for Mind Network?
Mason:
There are so many good things to share about Mind Network:
Firstly, I think it’s about people, people are the most important. Mind Network is a group of hardcore engineers led by an AI expert, a university professor, and a top hacker (the first in the world to hack Tesla) who recently joined us. With all these top-tier engineers, we are confident that Mind Network will be outstanding.
The Second thing I want to share is the partnership and sponsorship. We were the only data team selected for Binance Incubation Camp Season 5. We have also been selected for Chainlink Build program to co-build the data ecosystem with Chainlink. In addition to these, we received investment from the Arweave ecosystem fund ( with more to be revealed).
The last thing is about the product. After one year of hard work, we are going to launch our testnet soon, which means all the users interested in Mind Network can come to test our services. We will definitely issue the incentive program and reward the early testers. Thanks for your support.

About Mind Network

Mind Network is the first FHE Restaking Layer for POS and AI Networks. Our framework operates as an FHE validation network, bringing secure computation and consensus to AI, DePIN, EigenLayer AVS, Bittensor Subnet, and many critical POS networks. Mind Network’s solution has found initial product-market-fit with projects such as IO.Net, MyShell, Bittensor, AIOZ, Nimble AI, ChainLink, Connext and more adopting its solution. It has achieved 650k+ active users and 3.2M+ transactions processed on its testnet.

Mind Network is backed by Binance Labs, Hashkey, Big Brain, Chainlink, Comma3, SevenX, and received an Ethereum grant to conduct research on practical implementations for FHE technology on Ethereum.
